Affordable loans
A brand new partnership between Acacia Children’s Centre and the Waltham Forest Community Credit Union (WFCCU) will bring secure savings, cheap, ethical loans and great opportunities for volunteering to Leytonstone.
From 22nd May, people who live, work, study or worship anywhere in Waltham Forest will be able to join the WFCCU and make deposits from Acacia’s offices.
The WFCCU helps people get their finances back on track and start saving for the future. It offers affordable loans at a rate of interest that’s never more than 2% per month, free life assurance, opportunities to volunteer that can lead to paid employment, and a regular dividend paid from WFCCU surpluses.
Claire Walters, Chief Executive of the WFCCU, hopes the partnership will help them reach out to even more people in need of their services: “Times are difficult for everyone at the moment, but many people who are really struggling to make ends meet are turning to loan sharks and payday lenders for help.
“The extortionate rates of interest demanded by these companies just make matters worse. At the WFCCU, we work with our members to find a long-term solution to their finances and we offer an ethical alternative to high street banks. And because we’re covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme, our members’ money is always completely safe.”
To find out more about this new partnership, the services on offer and the launch event, please call Acacia on 020 8496 2960 or the WFCCU on 020 8520 8740
