Speech and Language Therapy

Speech and Language therapists assess and advise children and adults with communication difficulties from a wide range of different causes.

These may include language difficulties, speech difficulties, voice problems, dysfluency / stammering, and eating and drinking problems.

After assessment and diagnosis, the therapist decides upon a treatment programme to maximise communication skills.

You can't tell if someone's got an sexual transmitted infection (STI) just by looking at them. It is common knowledge that condoms are for stopping pregnancy but they also help stop the spread of STI. Why not visit the NHS website for more information on prevention.

Your local centre is the Department of Sexual Health at Whipps Cross Hospital, call them direct for an appointment, the number is below.
All information given by you is totally confidential and is kept within their department. Your GP will not be contacted unless you ask them to be, and give your consent, or if you have been referred by letter from your GP.

Mums get ‘Buggyfit’

Mums looking for a way to help fight the battle of the baby bulge usually face the question; what to do with baby while exercising?

Buggyfit is suitable for all mums who have had their six-week check (eight-10 weeks for caesareans) from their doctor.

The sessions take place at 10.30am on Mondays at the Waterworks Nature Reserve, Lammas Road, (off Leabridge Road) Leyton, E10 7NU. Sessions cost £7 pay-as-you-go or £30 for a six-week pass.

Specialist Childrens Service

The Specialist Children’s Service is the main statutory health and social care provider within the London Borough of Waltham Forest to disabled children and their parents and carers.

The Specialist Children’s Service provides a multi-disciplinary service to disabled children, children with complex health needs, their parents and carers.

Referral can be made to the Specialist Children’s Service by local professionals or parents/carers.
